Tuesday League – week 7 – 14th June 2011

After the heavy rain of the previous week, the sun shone down and brought the riders out in force and the favourable conditions led to a raft of personal best times.
Among the one-lappers, Erin and Tracey Carpenter and Rebecca McLeod all improved substantially, moving them on to two laps next week. Indeed, mother and daughter were only one second apart, so a close family competition is developing! Other one-lap riders scoring maximum points were Karen Hughes (who moves one point ahead of the pack in the seniors), previous winner Scott Reid, Moraig Lyall (jnr) and current leader Kyle Cartmell, who maintains his one-point lead at the top of the junior standings.
No fewer than 4 riders move up from 3 to 4 laps next week, having dipped under 36 minutes for three laps. Father and son, Ralph and Calum Allmond, finished seconds apart , while Donnie McLeod and Steven Bruce also comfortably broke the 36 minute requirement. Jake Carpenter and Emma Finlayson each shaved more than a minute off their PBs – in fact, Emma improved her time by over two minutes to retain second spot in the table. Fergus Dickson managed to improve by an incredible 4 minutes and 2 seconds!
Top rides among the 4 and 5 lap riders were produced by Neil L2 with a new PB of 48.00 for four laps and Warren Salmon whose 42.49 easily moves him on to five laps. Liz Barr and Garry Russell were flying round the course and each recorded times more than two minutes better than previously when stopping the clock at 52.51 and 52.59 respectively.
Provisional current standings below. See you all next week.
