Satisfaction. Even after grovelling home into a gale having had the legs ripped off me by a woodsman from the east end of Forres I still get the sort of glow of enjoyment that the bike has given me all over the world. I have tried loads of other sports before and since I starting riding and racing and its the only sporting activity that still gives me pleasure and the knowledge that even if the last ride was brutally hard it's going to make the next one just that little bit easier.
Headwinds are great because you get home quicker, when you turn around.
