The Junior club run will go ahead from the clubrooms on Saturday morning at 09:30 as normal.
These runs were designed for the stronger young rider and meant to be a be a bridge between the Tuesday League and open races. As a club, we are aware that nothing more exists for the junior riders who are younger and slower than this group. I wonder if there is any interest in providing other rides for the younger riders.
I have offered to accompany young Mary MacLean from Forres, via the quiet back roads through Dyke and Kintessack to Nairn, where her mother can meet us at Broadley Garden Centre. This would be a distance of approximately 10 miles and ridden at a pace to suit a young rider. Are there any more Tuesday Leaguers who would like to do this trip? If there is sufficient interest, it could become a regular feature throughout the warm summer months. Naturally, there would have to be a parental input to this scheme. For every couple of children, a parent, or guardian would have to cycle with us and someone would have to collect the youngsters from Nairn after the ride.
If anyone wishes to do this ride this Saturday, please respond to this notice and turn up at the clubrooms at 09:30. Make me feel like the Pied Piper of Hamblin why don't you?
