Forres stawlwart dies.

 Sorry to report the passing of another Forres Cycling Club legend. Hugh MacLennan died yesterday. Hugh coached many of the Forres cc youngsters and was ahead of his time with his coaching methods. He and his late wife Nannie were life members of The Club and were very hands on until failing eyesight and ill health caused them to retire from active cycling, though they still kept a keen interest on all that was going on in The Club. He will be sadly miissed. Peter H Robertson President.

Very sad news indeed !
Hughie looked after all us Forres loons in his own special way! As Peter says a legend. I can hear that whistle out at the intervals. And his starting words of "Well ma Loon" need to train harder . He helped train a lot fast boys in Forres who went on to achieve some great things. A remarkable man ! He will be sadly missed.

Sad news indeed.It was Hugh and Nans warm welcome to me when I first raced up North in '81 that encouraged me to join Forres C.C. Post the funeral arrangement on here please. Sadly missed. R.I.P.
