Its taken a while but I am now beginning to understand why Mountain Biking is so popular,

Tonight 3 experienced mountain bikers and 1 novice (me) took on the challenge of taming culbin in the dark, we set of from wellhill carpark to go round hill 99 with Jim on the front. The summit of hill 99 was soon reached with a regroup at the top and the descent down from the top was flat out missing trees by inches- very exciting stuff.

A regroup at the bottom every body safe we set of to loop around cloddy moss and back up a single track to wellhill, jim set a brisk pace on the front on surfaces that were fast but had the unexpected tree stump to catch you out.Dave nearly clobbered his new steed on one but with good fortune and skill just missed it.

All back safely and I must say I really enjoyed the first night time mountain bike run and thank Jim, Nick and Dave for making it a great run out.

Next week another Forest will be tamed.

Happy pedalling

A great run out tonight in the pitch black through Culbin.

A surprisingly fast pace from the older guys Very Happy , especially when you're relying on just your lights and reactions to make the turns.

Sanquhar woods next week - lets see how we cope with the new sections, undulating singletrack, big berms and the drops Shocked Best to put Dr Grays number in your phone as a speed dial...

See you there...

Dave.

Enjoyed last night very much and hopefully we can encourage other like minded fools to brave the dark and wet conditions. Dissapointed that we didn't see any ghouls. Although in the dark Ivan can look quit terrifying.
Lets see if we can get more next week. Cheers for last night
